60 e.brake cables

The rear emergency brake cables on my 60 are stuck. I took the assembly off the truck after several days of penetrant application and hooked a fence stretcher to it and got one of them free. The other side will not budge. Got another setup off a junker truck but the tabs were broken where they catch inside the backing plate. These were stuck too so I decided to heat one of the cable housings to see if it would free up. Bad idea. After all the P.B. Blaster burned off, it continued to burn and looks like rubber has bubbled up from inside the cable housing. Any suggestions on freeing up the frozen cable?

I just checked the cables on my '60 parts truck, but they're toast too...thought maybe I could hook you up. Maybe you could talk to Azwafree in a few days and see what he did:
