looking at an I6 '92 f150
hey fellas,
i have been lookin around for a truck for the wife. i am mainly looking for reliability, towing (about a 20' boat), and somewhat good gas mileage. i found this badboy and was wondering what you all think:
http://www.cars.com/search/used/cc/standard/results/single/ld/detail.jhtml?paId=9926036&aff=kbb&src=null&cid=nul l
i was wondering if the six would be good enough to tow with, and what do you all think about the price? i looked it up and foudn it was worth (black Book) $6500 at best. also i know the I6 is supposed to be great but how satisfactorily (is that a Word?) will this rig perform? any ideas just let me know.....
thanx,
nick.

That truck would be a good towing rig (depending on the rear end), it sounds really nice with low miles, etc. but the price is too high, I wouldn't pay over $5500 for it. The 300 I6 is an awesome motor when it comes to reliability. The 300 I6 in my 81 F100 had 350,000 miles on it before I pulled it out. Remember the saying "cash talks and bull***** walks" I'm sure if you showed up with $5,000 cash and said take it or leave it, you would probably be going home with a truck. Just my opinion.
