Question 993 F250 fuel delivery module replacement

O.K. I'm going to get 2 new fuel pumps (sorry, Ford cals them Feul deliver module) one for the mid tank and one for the rear tank. Rear tank fuel pump is shot and not working. Don't know how old the mid tank pump is. I figured I might as well replace both at one time to get things over with. Might as well get greasy and smelling like gasoline one time instead of 2 times. I have 2 questions regarding this operation. First, when I buy the pumps will they come with a new sender float and arm or do I have to take them off the old pumps and place them on the new pumps? Second, since the rear tank is full of gas (pump does not work at all) is there an easy way to drain it (probably not) before I remove it from the truck. Tried to put a half inch hose into the tank filler, got it down pretty far, but not far enough to siphon the tank. On top of all this I could not get the hose out. It seems to be caught on something in the filler neck or the tank. I just cut the hose at the filler neck and put the gas cap back on, thinking I'll get it out when I drop the tank. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

The easiest way is to get three other people and lift the bed off. Then you are free to take the pumps out and you can reach in and get your hose.

I've seen that suggestion in quite a few other posts, and I have been thinking about doing it that way. I'd also have to take off my Reading Cap (another 400 lbs) first, find a place to place it and then tackle the bed. If I only had to remove the bed, I wouldn't give it a second thought. I sure would rather work this project standing up instead of laying down. I just have to keep thinking of the last two Chevy products that I changed the fuel pumps on, laying in the middle of my driveway, getting gas all over me. I'll probably figure out away to handle it the bed-off way. Thanks for the suggestion.
