South Multi Chapter GTG Poll
I have put an "Other" on the poll. If you have a date that works for you please post the date and vote other. You never know, others may like that date much better than the ones I have listed in the poll. Have an idea or a question? Please post it.

I'll go ahead and post my idea of what I'd like this to be. A GTG somewhere not too far from where folks live. If we get folks from Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas then maybe Joplin, MO or something in that 4 corner area. It can be just a meet at a restaurant or we could see about a park or lake for a cook out.
If we don't get folks from all these states then we can move it so it is closer to the folks that can make it.
I'm going to try to contact some companies for some prizes to give away.
I didn't put a close date on this poll but I'll end it when the KC poll ends in 10 days. Then we can start working on a place.
Now these are just my ideas and they are not rules or written in stone. They are just ideas and your ideas are just as important.

Generally Saturdays are better for me, so that's how I voted.
Joplin is a good 4 hour drive, so I think something at a park or a campground with a pavillion would work out better. That's a lot of driving just to hang out at a resturant for an hour or two.
Honestly I wouldn't mind attenting the north meeting. I've got family spread from KC to St. Jo, and north up I-29 to the state line....but I can't do both.

Some more ideas I'd like to kick around. I will have some dash plaques made for this and will have packets for all who attend. Trying to get packet items now and I'd also like to have some prizes to give away at a drawing.
If any of the other CL's or members would like add to this please do. We could even have a design contest for a logo for this event.

Looks like the date will be Saturday October 14th for the south GTG. Now we need to decide on a location.
Joplin, MO, KS Rocks (Ft. Scott, KS area) and Baxter Springs, KS have been suggested. I've been looking at the map and Grand Lake looks pretty good. Need some help from the Arkansas folks. The only thing I see that looks like it might work is maybe Chambers Hollow area. East of Siloam Springs. I'm just working off some old Delorme map software so any help would be welcome. Give me some more ideas and we'll get a location poll going.

I haven't been there for a while but there were a few places along Elk River that I think would work for a GTG. Noel, MO is one, seems like there is a park along the river in town, remember renting a paddleboat for a while. There's another park along HWY 43 south of Seneca that is a little closer for the MO and KS folks and a little farther for AR, but it's away from town so no last-minute store runs. Neosho, MO has several parks, remember one around the old fish hatchery that IIRC was pretty good-sized.

If your thinking about Grand Lake you might also check out Ft. Gibson lake. I went there several years ago and can tell you it's a real nice lake. It was alot better than Grand in my opinion because there was not nearly as many people there.
Here is a link for some info about the lake. http://www.greencountryok.com/lakes/...od=detail&id=4
