I have recently traded my F250 460 for a 7.3L Powerstroke and am interested in BioDiesel. I am not ready to make it myself but would like to buy it as opposed to PetroDiesel. My question is this: Can I burn B20 without any modifications to my truck? What are the negatives? Any input would be great.

Depending on the model year of your truck you can run B(anything) without mods.
Most PSDs were made with fuel lines, and other rubber like fuel system components, that are safe for BD. I believe the cut off for BD safe models is 1994, pre is unsafe and post is safe, I could be wrong on the year.

Bio is cleaner burning, environmentally friendly, makes your truck run quieter and smoother, and if you make your own significantly less expensive.

B20 will work fine in your truck. If you have any factory warranty left be advised that Ford only permits the use of a maximum of B5.....though I think they would have and exceptionally hard time proving you used more, if they could tell at all.

 

The only downside to running B20 or higher is it will clean out your fuel system as bio is a great solvent. So if your going to run it carry an extra couple of fuel filters because your going to clog the first couple up, but once your fuel tank is cleaned out it will be fine. I stated down side and it is because of having to change the filters but it's also a major up side in that now your injectors, lines, pump etc are all nice and clean and working much better.
