I'll go ahead and post my idea of what I'd like this to be. A GTG somewhere not too far from where folks live. If we get folks from Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas then maybe Joplin, MO or something in that 4 corner area. It can be just a meet at a restaurant or we could see about a park or lake for a cook out.

If we don't get folks from all these states then we can move it so it is closer to the folks that can make it.

I'm going to try to contact some companies for some prizes to give away.

I didn't put a close date on this poll but I'll end it when the KC poll ends in 10 days. Then we can start working on a place.

Now these are just my ideas and they are not rules or written in stone. They are just ideas and your ideas are just as important.

Some more ideas I'd like to kick around. I will have some dash plaques made for this and will have packets for all who attend. Trying to get packet items now and I'd also like to have some prizes to give away at a drawing.

If any of the other CL's or members would like add to this please do. We could even have a design contest for a logo for this event.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that driving out of state is probably out of the question for me. Gas prices are just too high..

That is a good point. Thanks for posting it. It really needs to be addressed and I'd like to link to this on the other threads I have going.

When we have GTG's at different locations in KS we will sometimes truck pool. Thats whats nice about our big Ford trucks. They have lots of room for folks and stuff. So if you have a member or three in your area you might want to see about getting a group together to make the trip. Splitting the fuel cost makes it a lot more affordable. I really enjoy the extra time to talk with the other FTE members on the way to and back.

I understand that some folks who live on the other side of the state will most likely not make it. So maybe we can see if we can move this around a bit in the years to come. I would like this to be a yearly event. And if you'd like to get another multi chapter GTG with other states closer to you please do so.

The National event did not happen this year and I just want to see if maybe we can plant some seeds that will grow into one. I'm new to FTE. But I have to say I have not found a nicer group of folks anywhere else. Just trying to get some activity going on the boards and get folks together again.

I would not be opposed to having it in the NW corner of Arkansas if we have others that want to have it there. The 30-40 mile extra drive would not bother me. But we do need to have it as close as we can to the folks that want to make.

Thanks again for posting this. Just keep talking plain english to me and we'll be fine.

c'mon guy's, i waste more gas on weekends than it would take most of you to get there! joplin [around 100miles], springfeild [around 175 miles], branson [around 200 miles], harrison [around 100 miles], coffeyville again around 100 miles], there all the same to me!

yes gas prices are high, but you might want to go now before they get higher.
i dont go as much as i did last year, and i still go almost every weekend.

i bet each of you could save the money for gas in a week if you tried.
just think of the fine people and the great company you will have for a few hours! makes it all worth while!

tojoski, where is the buffalo river park located? might be able to make it if i dont already have something scheduled for that date.

it is about 14 miles south of yellville,

I've noted it on our member map here : https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...ember-map.html

but you can get better directions on google maps or mapquest. just search for yellville, AR and its the green area just south of it.

Guess it's time for an update. Ken is sending me some goodies. I have others I will contact also. Dash plaques will be easy and I'll get working on those next month.

I'll get a location poll up after the date poll ends tomorrow.

I've been kicking the idea of the gtg around. Might be good to head that way and look for locations for the South Multi GTG. Just a bit too warm for me to camp though. Maybe next month if you have a GTG in September. I'll drive down camp and take an extra day to check out some locations.. Should be a bit cooler then. August is when I go to Colorado to camp high up in the mountians. Where it gets cold enough to put the bugs to sleep early. And they don't wake up till about 9:00 AM and I can get out of camp.

Looks like the date will be Saturday October 14th for the south GTG. Now we need to decide on a location.

Joplin, MO, KS Rocks (Ft. Scott, KS area) and Baxter Springs, KS have been suggested. I've been looking at the map and Grand Lake looks pretty good. Need some help from the Arkansas folks. The only thing I see that looks like it might work is maybe Chambers Hollow area. East of Siloam Springs. I'm just working off some old Delorme map software so any help would be welcome. Give me some more ideas and we'll get a location poll going.

Last weekend for the poll. Right now it's tied between Siloam Springs (one of the votes dose not count) and Neosho with KS Rocks just one vote back. So if you have been waiting to vote nows the time. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...tion-poll.html

I have stickers, 8 shirts, two books, stickers, tool accessories, video games/computer accessory, stickers, vehicle accessories, Koozies, stickers and some pins. I'll add a few gift certificates and dash plaques. And a few other items if I can.

I'll have packets with goodies for the first 15 trucks that show up. Packets will have a dash plaque for the event, stickers, and other items such as pens, or pins, key chains, koozie ect.... I will also enclose a raffle ticket in the packet for a drawing for the shirts and other items. Additional tickets will be available.

I plan to have the KS. chapter banner set up. Other chapters are welcome to display a banner.

I plan to drive to the area that wins the location poll next week and make final arrangements. It was brought up that an outdoors location would be our first choice so we can have more time and activities. I will get an indoor location as a back up. Just in case the weather does not want us to have this outside.

I'm really looking forward to this.
