One of our T1s took a lightning strike this evening and is down indefinitely.
To our sponsors, one of the functions of the server behind this T1 is advertising. The server itself is fine, but sponsor ads won't show until the T1 issue is resolved. Lost impression views will be made up over the course of the week.
To our users, if there is a little slowness loading pages, please bear with us. The ad server is also a secondary image server. We've moved this functionality to our secondary T1 but the server behind it is now way overloaded.
You know I never paid much attention to those ads till they started looking strange. I have actually clicked on a few today. Maybe you could turn that fact into an additional revenue stream
Just happened to notice, the chapter forums are missing as well... I imagine related. Can still access through the user cp...

Come on down and join us in the Iowa chapter, or your own local chapter!! Thanks, Roger
I went to the office and picked up the server that's affected by the downed T1 and brought it home. Its now on the home T1 line. Everything should run normally now, but may be a little slow as the operational T1 will likely have 100% of its bandwidth used.
We received a call from Bellsouth's tech and were told that due to the number of people affected by the lightning storm I would have a choice to either go to the office at 3:00am or 8:00am to let the tech have access. I picked 8:00am (I have to get some sleep!) So expect things to be slow for the first half of the day.
You have always been trusted to do the right when something happens
Thanks Dennis, I really appreciate it. Give the office a call sometime soon. Toll free 877-399-6417, extension 101. Its been a while since we've chatted and I miss it.
