Let Me Introduce Myself

Hey folks,

My name is Keith aka CowboyPenner. I drive a '99 Explorer Sport. Some of you may know me already from my previous FTE posts. I'm moving to High River AB in a few weeks to take a job with a trucking company that hauls beef out of the Cargill processing plant in High River.

I'm looking forward to meeting and making new friends. I see there are many threads about shows and get-togethers so I'll have to peruse those and see what I can get out to.

Welcome to Alberta, Keith. Ive never been to High River but I'm sure its a nice place to live. I'm further north, West of Edmonton. Hope your new job works out for you, all trucking companies are begging for drivers.

I wish I was driving but I'm the shunt truck dispatcher.
Thanks for the welcome.

I'll either meet you down there or invite up here once you get settled.
I used to spend a lot of time down that way in the 80's.

But we have more to do up this way

Sounds good. I'll let you know. I'm planning on being there by Sept 22.

High River is a nice town, and more importantly, it's close to a lot of great scenery. Pretty much anything west or south west of there will be absoloutley gorgeous. I reccomend checking out Waterton and the Highwood Pass as soon as you can. Also, pick up a copy of the backroad mapbook for southern Alberta.

Once you get here, let me know if you need more suggestions.

77 has it right, just head straight west a few miles and you are truly in God's country.. Just ask Ian Tyson while you are there. My cousin used to be a cowhand on the Bar U ranch out there, and it is JUST like living in a postcard.

But being from the bald-arsed Prairie, down Lethbridge way, I get homesick for a place where you can see for 60 miles off to the foothills of the Rockies, whenever I am away.

Welcome to the province, and best o'luck in all your ventures! You are smack in the middle of Cowboy country (as your name suggests) for sure.

WHAT??!! You are leaving us in Ontario? Hmmm...that sucks. Hope your job works out though.

People that live in Alberta: I had an opportunity to meet Keith a few months back. Great guy with lots of stories. Take care of him for us.

Hey Matt,

Thanks for the reference but to my dismay the trip has been cancelled do to circumstances beyond my control. For the time being I will be remaining in Ontario.....not that it's a terrible place to be 'cause it's not.
