My '05 5.4 Lariat gets average 14 according to the factory computer in the dash. For those of you who do not have this feature it averages all the driving until you reset it. In the city if I'm accelerating hard it can go down as low as 10 and on a highway trip driving at 60 (just to see what mileage does) it gets almost 19. My truck is lowered, Roush split off-road exhaust, Undercover bed cover, factory tire size, 3.73 rear end.

2007 F-150 4.2L w/5-speed: First fill-up came to 19.4 mpg. This was mostly highway, but high-speed/heavy traffic. Also no cruise on this very basic truck. Second tank seems to be going down faster, which figures, because it's all 'city'. This is a very nice truck for the money - about what I would have paid for a base Colorado. One of the last ones to come out of Norfolk, so I hope it isn't a 'revenge' truck! So far so good. I believe I could get 23 mpg or better at a steady 55 mph, but who can do that these days? Everywhere you go is like a lap at Talledega. I don't mind going fast, but we're talking drafting with idiots here.

I keep a spreadsheet to track mine. In 29,800 miles my average is 13.58.
My commute involves driving 3 miles (25 mph avg), taking a bus, and a train. Those trips net me about 11 mpg.
I tow about 6000 lbs one or two times a month 300-900 miles round trip depending on the track. Towing I get 10.5.
One the occasion where I actually hit the highway and drive without a load I get about 17.5 at speeds averaging 75 mph.
