Truck Cap

My color matched fiberglass MPULSE canopy (A.R.E.'s cheap version) was $800 for the 6.5ft styleside (the standard) bed in 2002, iirc. Other than the color matched gelcoat and sliders, it had no options. Toppers can be pretty expensive, new. You have to talk to the dealers to get the quotes. Prices vary by region.

I'm selling my LEER truck cap from my 2003 F150 I just traded in.My question is there a difference in the box size for a 1999 f150 xlt reg.cab w/stepside box to a 2003 f150 xl regcab.styleside box.Now I know the ford cab styles are the same from 1997-2003,but will the styleside fit a stepside box same length? Thanks,Al.

The styleside bed is 65.2" wide (at the very foreward most top of the box by the cab) - add 4.5" per rail to get the outside dimension. The flareside bed is 59.7" wide at the cab - again add 4.5" per rail for the outside dimension. Both boxes taper inward toward the back, but the flareside does it more.
The shortbed boxes are interchangeable (uses the same mounts), though - the tailgates are not.

Too bad we are not closer. I have an extra Cap. For sale real cheep! $50.
It was on my 97 F-150 XLT.
It's the ugliest faded 'sorta Maroon' you ever saw. It's missing a window or two, and the back door is off. Handle's missing and so are the struts.
It has the sliding window, and good 'hold down clamps' and it's structurarily in good shape.
This is a classic 'fixer-upper' if you ever saw one. Come n' get it!

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for...a camper type cover or just a "lid" or tonnaue cover. I have the "undercover" on my 98 flairside reg cab and like it just fine. It only weighs about 50 pounds and I can remove it by myself when I need full access to the bed. Its made of a hard ABS plastic, is a hard cover, lockable, and weather tight. Easy to install yourself, but I had mine installed at the local dealer. My total cost was around 800 dollars. Check their website WWW.UNDERCOVERINFO.COM. Hope this helps
