prof. painters opinion needed

Hey guys, I need a professional painters opinion. I just finished painting my truck with a polyurethane paint. (4 coats black, 2 coats clear) I still have to give it the final sanding before it's completely finished, but my question is this. I was told that this type of paint CAN NOT be waxed. Is this true?

You can wax enamel paint but I wouldn't.
Wax can be very hard to remove even with wax and grease removers etc if you need to do any repairs to your paint work later.
If you paint over a surface that has been waxed your paint will form fish eyes or small little see through rings in the finish very annoying.
I would jst use a good quality non silicon based polish after your initial cut and buff.
Should look a treat.

I would use a polish as well. You want to make sure it is a breatable polish or a bodyshop safe polish. There are many different companys that make a system to use from buffing to polishing. I am most familiar with the system from 3M, its what we use at our shop. 3M has a great system from wet sanding all the way to polishing. We use the perfectet 3 buffing compound and polishes, and they are going to be coming out with a new swirl mark remover sometime at the end of the month. Its supposed to be the best thing for black paint. I have a sample from my 3M rep but havent had a chance to use it yet. I will post when i get a chance to use it.
