Gave up completely...wild goose chase. The code list is tiring and would eventually work but I live in a place where the temps are near freezing now...couldn't stand out in the cold long ehough to pull it off...broke down and took it in to the ford dealeership...cost 89.00

2005 Excursion XLT door code

Found the code by removing the trash bag hook (2 screws), then slid, not removing, the cupholder above it out. A gaze toward the firewall and to the left revealed the white sticker, with the five number code, plain as day. Didn't see it until I slid the cupholder out. Don't worry, it DID take me about an hour. Started looking from the driver's side first, with no luck. This was the ONLY way I could have spotted it. Hope it helps someone.

Heres how to get your code in about a minute with nothing more then a mirror and maybe a flashlight in your 02+ excursions.

1,

I read your post before I started hunting for the code and just couldn't figure it out. I must have been looking the wrong way. I checked again after I located it through the bag holder and still couldn't see it from the driver's side. Maybe my X has some additional wiring in the way. Or, its one of those things that is right in front of your nose...kinda like the Big W in "Mad Mad Mad Mad World"...
Thanks for your help.

You have to stick your arm up along the front wall unde rthe dash its just over the gas pedal and over towards the center of the truck. Kinda right over the edge of the transhump maybe 10" or so up if I recall correctly. Its a wide thin black back with 3 or 4 different colored plugs going into it. I just bought a new digital camera and plan on redoing those pictures soon. The pics up now were form my camera phone and arent the greatest.

thank you for insight on where to find the code for my keyless system on my 04 F350.
My wife and i removed the trash bag hanger and moved a little bit of insulation and there it was. ( My control module was black not tan like some people suggested.

Mansvan,

Glad it helped, if my tip was the helpful one. Sounds like there are a bunch of different locations for the code. My module was also black like yours.
