Kinda related question. What do you do when your keyfob goes bad or something?
Where do you buy them, how much are they?
Also, since I have a different one myself (aftermarket with remote control) and don't use my original ones, can I reprogram them for him and if so, how do you do that?
I finally found mine!! It was behind the cd player and after many attempts to locate I finally found the box on the firewall. I could not see it at first because of the cross bar and vent ducts. I finally caught a slight view of a label on a black box. I couldnt actually see it, but with an inspection mirror and some odd manuvering I got the numbers.

If you can't laugh at yourself, you've got no business laughing at others.
I have a 2000 X, and when I bought it, the owner had no idea of the code. So I looked at article after article... tore apart the WHOLE dash, and looked in all the places... NO CODE... I guess they didn't put printed codes on the '99 SuperDuty and 2000 X.. I wasn't about to pay $100 for some guy to tell me the code, so I looked into it more. I read a forum (not sure where) where someone used Microsoft Word to create a Macro to make all the possible codes... (sounds like something you wouldn't want to do, but you will be surprised) There are 5 buttons on the keypad. So you go into word create this macro that uses all the possible 5 digits numbers it could make with 0 1 2 3 4. It makes about a total of 10 sheets of codes at like 5 or so columns on each page.... TONS OF CODES. You then label the 1/2 key: 0 the 3/4 key: 1 and so on.... so now your keypad looks like 0 1 2 3 4... then you enter codes.... I did this for 10 min. and found my code. Some may be quicker, some may take longer... If anyone would like me to send them this word document with all the numbers, I would be glad too, also if anyone would like me to explain the procedure better I will. I'm so greatful that I found out about this way. I wish I would have remembered who it was so I could give the credit to that person, but it was probably 6 or 8 months ago. Good Luck!
Hi Matt, this is gtadim, I read your post and would like a copy of the information. I bought a 2000 excursion recently and am having the same problem locating the code. Please send info to gtadim@can.rogers.com thanks.
Hi, this is gtadim, I cracked the key pad code on my 2000 excursion with the help of all you Ford truckers. Thanks alot the list of codes worked. It takes a little patience but you'll get it. All in all it took me about 2 hours till I found my code. Thanks again,
George.
Hi. Looked every where except up the tail pipe for the code on 01X. Could someone please e-mail me the code list? I changed the batteries in the truck and now the THEFT light is flashing and the truck won't start. It turns over real good though!!!!
Thanks, Glenn blackdiamond@linwoodnet.com

Try another key,, Or,, get in close the door then insert the key and try again. Sounds like the anti theft doesn't recognize your key
HI. I tried both factory keys, as well as various combinations to try and get it running. The THEFT light flashes fast as soon as the ignition is turned on. I'm hoping that entering the key pad code will reset it.

Probably won't.. Try disconnect the battery with the doors unlocked. Also consider locking the door then unlock the door with the key.
Some alarm systems have interesting logic in them. Jim
I think I should buy a lotto today. Picked a page of code mid pack. Half way down the first row found the code. Truck still wouldn't start ( THEFT light still flashing fast ). Turned the key to on, rolled the driver window down, hit the lock button, shut the door, then entered the key code. Door opened, the THEFT light went out during glow plug time, truck fired right up. Thanks Guys! Glenn
