NEED HELP. 2002 7.3 SUPER DUTY. PROBLEM IS I AM ON MY 3RD FUEL PUMP ALL WITH SAME PROBLEMS. WHEN FUEL GAUGE GETS TO 1/4 TANK , TRUCK LOSES POWER GOES DEAD. EVERY TIME IS THE SAME. AROUND 10 GALLONS IN TANK EVERY FAILURE.

I HAVE REPLACED FUEL PUMP 3 TIMES (UNDER WARRANTY). REPLACED FUEL FILTER 3 TIMES. REMOVED AND CLEANED TANK TWICE.

First Time Was The Same. 1/4 Tank Druck Loses Power, Went Dead.

Each Fuel Pump Was A Ford Fuel Pump Replacement Under Warranty (from Local Ford Dealership).

Thanks

When you dropped and cleaned your tank did you do the check the tower filters in the mixing chamber, or just get rid of the mixing chamber all together. Just a thought.

Replaced filter, with new pump after dumping and cleaning tank.

Only conclusion I come to is, when it gets to a 1/4 tank it catching air. With a low pressure fuel pump, not having the weight of the fuel to help push it, it might be catching air causing the engine failure.

But I can not find any leaks.
