Unibody f250s

I recently purchased 2 1963 f250 unibody trucks identically configured. These trucks were bought by the railroad. They have power steering as well. The power steering units are original or at least contemporary to the truck. I was curious if they were added by ford

If anyone knows let me know

The trucks are in very good condition with all original parts other than s recent rust problem in the rear passenger side of the bed and fender area. I need a section of that fender if anyone knows of a parts truck or someone with what I need

Please add me to your Uniody registry.

I have a 63 short bed, small rear window Rangoon Red [and eight colors of rust] Unibody. The truck was built in San Jose/Fremont CA and was Factory equipped with 292 V8 and a 3 on the tree. It was equipped with a Barden bumper [Rear] and a AM radio. Per the factory plate it is rated at 6,000 pounds GVW. I have blueprinted and balanced the small valve head 292 and upgraded it with a 3/4 race cam, and Offenhauser aluminum valve covers. It has a recently rebuilt steering box, rearced springs, new kingpins and rebuilt steering parts. It now sports a class 2 receiver hitch and an electronic trailer brake controller. Planned upgrades include Power disc brakes, rebuilding the transmission and third member. Future upgrades may include a four barrel manifold and throttle body injection, fog and backup lights along with air conditioning. This truck is used regularly.

I have a 63 unibody, automatic. Have been told there was only one automatic in the US. Don't know if this is true but if so I'm the proud owner.

62 small window short bed. 100% all there and original except it's been converted to a 302 so have no idea what was in it. It's name is Waylon for it had a Waylon Jennings tag on the front bumper.

'63 Unibody 292 V8 to a 360

I wanted to put a 360 with a C6 transmission in the truck but now I am concerned that will cause a significant amount of body work moving engine mounting brackets. I wanted to upgrade the engine because the orginal has a rod thru the block and I want more power. So my quetions are

Has any one made this change and if so how much body work did you have to do?

Or

Are there premanufactured braket kits for this exhange?

I will also need to locate a kit to link the c6 to the shifter on the column.

If anyone has done this what are your recommendations?

Thank you for your guidance

WOW, been almost 17 years since I started this post. Left here because of some real nasty emails I got from folks thinking I was trying to steal their truck info. So I just left... Still have my 63, gone thru several different paint jobs since 99. Look forward to being a part of the group.

Nice to finally meet the originator of the post. I have been doing the same for many years and have a pretty good database of all the trucks.

61 short bed uni

i have a 61 short bed small window uni. was a 292, 4spd,9inch, truck.
light blue.now in a sad state. work on it on and off. currently sittting on a 98 crown vic rearend. and a 06 crown vic frt end. frt clip partialy off to replace core support and front cab mounts and floor. thru the years its also had a 250 and a 200 inline 6 in it. a 351 m c4 combo.. now just an empty engine bay. have both a 5.0 ho in good condition and a 69 429 tjet, that needs rebuilt. having a hard time decieding which to fab in. thinking 302/ aod for fuel economy, cheap, plentiful parts etc. but thinking 429 to 466-C6 for severe fun factor. my 5.0 just sucked up my money i set aside for flooring and cab mounts. Woodward ave dream cruise is in 2 weeks so ill start saving again after that.

Just moved to my new digs, now to clean out the garage so I can get the '62 inside so I will be able to work on it without being rained on (we've had a banner year for rain this year here in Alberta)

1961 F100 Unibody

I bought my 61 sight unseen over the internet from a company in Orange County California. After driving it for year, I decided to do a total rebuild. I'm not a purist when it comes to factory rebuilds but I tried to stick with all Ford up-grades. There is no comparison to disc vs standard drum brakes or rack & pinion to a straight axle and steering box.
The body was in remarkable shape, 98% rust and dent free.
The truck as I understand came from factory with only 1 sun visor, no radio, no seat belts, no back bumper or heater. The option-less bare bones truck was probably one of the cheapest models Ford ever put out.
