1963 Ford F100 Unibody Custom Cab Shortbed
Dad bought new in 1963. He traded it in on a 1965 twin I beam. My grandmother and grandfather went and bought it from dealer after dad traded it in to them at Furlow Cate Ford in Chattanooga, Tn.
It is black with all the chrome. Black and white interior, with the twill cloth seat. The seat shows some wear on the lower part, back of seat is great. The rubber floor mat is perfect. The white has a little bit of patina showing through, on the dash face but not too bad. The top of dash is black and is perfect. The tailgate has some rust on each side by the handles, which I plan to get a professional sheet metal guy to make or form those and weld them in.
It is 3 speed on the column with overdrive. 292 V8 engine.
It has 57,903 original miles.
It has a ding about the size of a silver dollar, where my grandfather left it out of gear and it rolled a bit and hit something on the drivers fender nose (character bump). it has a little ding on the top, in the middle above the window.
Original paint, not perfect but too good to worry about.
It sits most of the time. just replaced gas tank, due to rust in it.
Not for sale.

I wanted to put a 360 with a C6 transmission in the truck but now I am concerned that will cause a significant amount of body work moving engine mounting brackets. I wanted to upgrade the engine because the orginal has a rod thru the block and I want more power. So my quetions are
Has any one made this change and if so how much body work did you have to do?
Or
Are there premanufactured braket kits for this exhange?
I will also need to locate a kit to link the c6 to the shifter on the column.
If anyone has done this what are your recommendations?
Thank you for your guidance

A 292 flywheel isn't going to work on an inline six. Even if it will bolt up, the balance is going to be off. I assume you are looking for a manual transmission flywheel.

BTW if you decide you are not going to use the bed trim I will buy it off of you. I've been trying to find a set for long time.
