"63 long wheelbase unibody
I am in central Oh, and I have a "63 Long wheelbase unibody p/u, with a 6 cyl. engine. I bought a 4 speed manual overdrive tranny for it to save gas. I was previously driving my F-350 crew cab 4x4 diesel, and it was getting quite expensive after diesel fuel hit around $4.00 a gallon. I am putting new floor pans, cab mounts, and floor supports in it along with new step plates,and backsplash step panels. Also replacing both inner fender splash aprons. (a good bit of money and work, but well worth it in the end.) A little bit of body work, some paint and a new stainless steel bed floor,and she should be good to go. I like my Fords I have this truck and my "99 F-350 4x4 centurion superduty diesel, A '36 Ford pickup (in restoration progress), An 8-N Ford tractor W/a flathead Ford V-8 and a 4 cylinder Ford 8-N.(both tractors have sherman combo overdrive transmissions. All of this keeps me off the streets,and in the barn working.

The closest truck I have to yours is F10CK361771 made out of the Kansas City plant. It was on auction on Ebay, but not sure when. Is yours a Custom Cab? What do you have listed as a DSO. I have roughly 73, 1963's on my list some with serial numbers and some without. The best would be if they would list the serial number entirely, and give me a shot of the warranty tag. It interesting to see how far some of these trucks have traveled, the DSO number tells the district sales office but it tells so much more, but the information is lost. It would be cool to find out what extras were placed on some of these trucks and figure out Fords Codes on DSO numbers.

C= 292 CID V-8, 2V carb, 135 Hp, 3800 RPM
R= Built at te San Jose Assembly Plant
362037= Built Dec 1962
3 on the tree, they had to types
(A) was Ford 3 Speed Manual Light Duty Transmission,, No Syncro 1st gear
(B) was Borg Warner T-85N 3 Speed Overdrive
The trans code on the warranty tag will tell you which one. What did you have for Axle code? By your avitar the truck appears to be red, if it original color the color code would be (J) Rangoon Red.

Here's my warranty tag info: 14 J F100 66B A 12 5000 146 3800 71
I was surprised by the transmission not having a syncro for first. I'm able to downshift to first without any grind. I must be decent at rev matching, if that's possible.
I bought the truck in southern California, and with all the paperwork I have it seems that's where it pretty much stayed. No Rust!!!

(1) It's a V8, not an I-6, so it does not have a Light Duty Transmission. (2) It's a 1963, not a 1961 or 1962, so it has 1st gear syncro. (3) B = Borg Warner T-86 3 Speed O/D ~ T-85N O/D wasn't available until 1965.
