Ruined Leather

Another question about repair. I have an '03 Explorer with leather (the faded parchment) interior. I apparently didn't take proper care of the leather, and the finish has begun to come off on the drivers seat. The rest of the leather is in near perfect condition.

What is my best option for fixing this? Are the leather refinishing services I see advertised going to provide good results? If not, can the leather be replaced (or is it impossible to replace just one part of the leather? What is it going to cost me?

Thanks,
Miles Teg

If you have any reputable upolstery companies in your area they should be able to just repair/replace the affected panels. I had a large rip in a leather seat and they replaced it with a perfect matched panel. The price wasn't bad either.

Thanks,

I didn;t think that wold be possible at a reasonable price. I think I'll look into that since I have serious doubts about someone redying it.

I saw a guy on EBay that sold "just the bottom panel" for Expeditions. Maybe someone is still doing that. I think the upholstery shop would be your best bet. I would expect it to cost at least $100.
