Allison Transmission AT-545

Hello,

I am getting ready to put a 96 7.3L Powerstroke in my 92 Bronco. Does anyone know if I can get a Allison Tranny At-545 to fit the Powerstroke? Some people have said there is an adapter plate, is this true? Is so where can I get it?

Thanks,
Anthony

at545 isnt a very good trans, we have a t444e international with the at545 with a fresh trans rebuild and still having problems with it.

I don't want a 5 speed because I prefer an automatic for the long drives.

What problems have you had? I am looking at the Allison for $1100 completely rebuilt.
Did your t444e have the tranny bolted to it or did you put it on?

I thought Allison was the "BEST"? Any other thoughts?

I guess the E40D will be the only option.

imo the e4od is far superior. yes the at545 was the factory trans in our truck, has never shifted right. It was just rebuilt and still doesnt shift right. BTW at545's have no park, neutral only so its a pain in the azz if your parking brake doesnt work right.

Enough said, the E40D it is. you got me once you said parking break problems. Are you considering switching to a E40D? I have been getting prices on it they range from $1200 - $1800. If you know of any better let me know. Thanks for your help and time.

zf. the at will require a adapter plate, your t-case won't bolt to it and a number of other headaches
