Tow to MotoGp and back Report

So I went up to Laguna Seca for the Moto GP, 550 miles round trip, 05 V10, towing 22ft enclosed with two sport bikes and various gear. I got 8.5 overall going 65-70mph. Some good hills, it drops a gear or two, goes up to 4k on the tach and leaves the crowd in its dust, makes tons of noise, im gonna have to upgrade the stereo to drown out the engine. And most of this towing was in 100 plus degree heat, a good 45 minutes was in 110 degree heat and no problems. I can say that the trailer is a brick, i towed a 4000 lbs audi in it about 100 miles and got the same mpg, im pretty sure its wind limited mpg at this point regardless of load in the trailer. The race was awesome, a bit hot tho, owe and one more thing, I live at 4500 ft elevation, the V10 rocks at sea level, hold on! To compare, I spent 260 on gas, the cheapest plain ticket from my closest airport to monterey was 388. A rental car plus gas would have been more than to take the v10 and trailer. I can't complain....

Good stuff. My V10 does about the same towing on gas as it does empty. Just keep your foot out of it.

To hot for me to go to Laguna. I am more of a dirtbike guy anyway. Glad you had a good time

Cool! Maybe a cap/topper would help with the aerodynamics, especially one of those that is higher than "cab height" to try to get the air flowing over the top of that trailer.

That is, of course, if you can stand the $2000 price tag for it
