what ever someone will pay for them, thats not really trying to be a smart **** but it's just a fact. a lot depends on the area, try calling a junk yard and asking what they would charge for a core engine, and maybe a running engine that might get you in the ball park. Area does have a lot to do with it though, I have heard guys say they will pay 1-200 for a set of heads, yet I can buy a running 429 or 460 around here for $150-250 and core engines I never give more than $50 for them.

could you please get me a running 460 for $150. I can't even go out into the junkyard and look/touch and engine for less than $300, let alone buy one.

Pittsburgh sucks

well I am sure I could but shipping would probably kill ya getting it to pittsburg, and don't even think about driving, heck for the price of the gas you could buy a rebuilt engine locally.

IMO, I don't think the heads and block are worth more than $250 if they are in good shape, but I have heard of people paying a lot of money for them. The most I paid for a early 429/460 was $225 a few years ago. It was a complete, decent running, low miles, original motor from a station wagon. If I had to shell out a lot of money for them, I would save up some more money and buy aftermarket aluminum heads. The only thing you gain from the heads is smaller combustion chamber, easily over came with higher compression pistons. They still flow the same as the later heads. This is just my veiw, everyone has their own veiw.
