VIN number Break-Down

Hello,
Where can I go to enter my 1985 Ford F-150 V8 302 Vin # and get a full break down of the number. Looking to find out where the truck was made, etc...
Thanks,
AF

Welcome to FTE.I decoded my truck using several catalogs here are the ones I used .I don't know how accurate they are but it could help.

LMC Catalog,NPD Catalog(National Parts Depot), and Dennis Carpenter all 3 were Free and had them in about 4-6 weeks.

VIN break downs

Thanks for your feedback!
I thought at one time I had a decoder site for breaking these down. I did find one at one time to look up the vins for my two 1953 ford trucks, which are now for sale. That site was very helpful. I've sent emails to all three of your suggestions. Thanks for your help!

Ahhhh I had my hopes up and when my VIN failed I found that my truck is just one year too old...

The vehicle information applies to 1982 through 2005 models only.

Yeah those free VIN decoders are junk. Not telling me anything useful. Just tells me that I have a 81 F150 with a 302.

I never found decoding the VIN to be all that useful anyway. It only tells you the year, make, model, body style, and engine. All of which you can figure out by looking at the truck.

edit: except for where the truck was made, which isn't useful anyway.

Yeah it's a door plate decoder that would be more valuable. The ones that are out there are for newer trucks.

It's that Safety Compliance Certification Label sticker that tells you pretty much what you need to know about a truck.
