Factory boost vs. tuner boost

So here's the thing, when I'm not running my tuner and I'm on my factory tune, my boost consistently blows 27 at WOT. I had the superchips 1805 and am now running the SCT with custom tunes. The weird thing is both the superchips and SCT made/make my truck haul but the both only hit about 23 on the boost'0'meter (I have factory boost and after market boost gauges).

I have the quadzilla intake (sold the afe II, see post from yesterday) and cat-back stacks (soon to be a turbo back system since I seem to ping 1450ish at on my pyro gauge).

Anyone have an answer as to why the tuners would show low boost yet make the truck haul? No one at superchips or SCT had an answer.

This may be because while air quantity (27 vs. 23) may be more stock, the air quality of the 23 may be better. Meaning, maybe stock, the air is less dense so there is less volume going into the engine. At 23 that air might be more dense of air putting more volume in the engine providing more power so you can "haul". This is just an opinion. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Mine goes right near the red zone in the factory boost o meter with the 'performance tune' on my sct.

Street, towing and stock tunes will only get around 21-22psi (egr disconnected)

I have a very long answer for this, but its been described in the superchips thread a few times. If I get a chance later today, I'll come back in and elaborate.
