I know, I know, I need to get a life , but I found this while researching, and wondered...................looks like it might be doable on a Co-Op sized Biodiesel plant.

You are way out there aren't you.

The articles you provided are probably a lot more interesting to refiners than the average guy on the street running a IDI.

One of the biggest hurdles refiners are all trying to overcome these days is the shortage of hydrogen they need for all the hydrotreaters used to remove sulphur from fuel to meet the new low sulphur fuels regulations.

Turning the waste product from Biodiesel production (Glycerol) into Hydrogen would be a huge benefit to the refiners if they could only get past the dino oil thinking they are stuck in.

Maybe..........But I really believe in the future of "biofuels". My major focus in the last year is to show other farmers that they too can supply all their energy needs. This process is just another potential plus for mid-sized farms and small Co-Ops to utilize their "waste" glycerol.

I like to think 5-10 years out. At the pace of new biodiesel plant construction the new "frontier" should be in using the glycerol, hence my work in the pelletizing of glycerol and straw, hay, and grains. This is just another piece of the "pie".
