I replaced my 2002 F250 16X7 8 lug factory rims with a new set of Rims and Tries. I have a friend that wants to use the rims for winter snow tires for his 2005 f250. The only difference I see is the 2005 has 17X7 8 lug rims. Does anybody know of any other issues? Are the bolt patterns the same?

I have not tried it but I've been told that the brakes on the 05's are too big for 16 '' rims to clear.

 

yes, the brakes on the 2005+ are to big for the 16" rims.

 

How about the other way around, will 2005 rims work on 2000's?? 4x4 specifically, and on an excursion.

 

They should bolt right up, but the deeper offset could very well widen the already wide turning radius, as the tires will likely come into contact with the front leaf springs.
