Post High Voltage

I just installed a Pertronix Ignitor in my 1965 F-100. The truck is running a 1973 302 V-8, with a Edelbrock 4V. I also installed a Accel Superstock Coil at the same time.

The engine seems to run fine, but I'm measuring 18 Volts at the battery when the engine is running. I've replaced the voltage regulator, but no change....still 18 Volts.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I would test the alternator ASAP! 18 volts is a lot and will ruin the battery. Just a thought! Is the tester reliable?
