Superchip best setting for mileage
Hey guys I have an 06 powerstroke 6.0 Super Crew King Ranch with a SuperChip. Most of you know it has 3 settings, economy, standard (I think) and performance (most horsepower gain). Which one would give me the best mileage. The dealer I bought it from said the performance mode would because the more horsepower you give the diesel the better the mileage. What's the right answer if anybody knows.

I keep mine in Economy mode unless I am towing then it goes into tow mode. I honestly havent tried the High Performance mode yet. I want to get an EGT gauge installed so I dont blow my turbo. I do notice a little better gain in Economy over Tow mode. I tried both empty just to see. Best that I have seen is high 17's low 18's. Right now with alot of running around town trips the lie-o-meter is showing low 12's.

HI 1968 Mustang,
Actually, it is true that the performance setting can give excellent mpg gains when not driving it hard.
A diesel engine needs to have some load on it to get the best mpg gains, as you generally do not see around-town low-load gins without reducing power, but I would do a comparison between the economy tune and the performance tune.
In most cases, the way most people drive, the economy tune is going to give the best mpg gains for day to day driving.
