they should fit up with maybe a lil scrubbin. any chance you could try them on? thats really the only way, every truck sits a lil different and every truck owner wants a different look. also depends on the wheels you run to.

What aspect ratio are they??? the tire should read 285/?? R 16. The first # is the total width of the tire from bead to bead, the second # is the % of side wall the tire has. For instance a 285/75r16 tire will measure 285mm from bead to bead, take that x the aspect ratio (75%) and you have the sidewall height (213mm)

Hope this helps

Your 97 two wheel drive should ve the same as my 95 two wheel drive.

You mentioned rear tires and a set. Are you looking at 285s for just the rear or for front and back? You have waaaaaaay more than enough room for them on the rear.

I have 285/75 R 16 LT Cooper Discoverer ATR on mine with no issues except the back inside sidewall of the front tires will contact the radius arm in a full lock turn. It has not been an issue, they just barely touch and have not damaged the tires in the 14,000 or so miles I have had them on. They are VERY close to the bumper as you turn but no interferance so far.
