Ceramic Pads ?????

I am considering insatalling ceramic front pads on my '01 Ranger 4WD. My main consern is the rotors. I personally believe that 100% Organic was the way to go. They were never hard on the rotors. I am not corcerned about dust. And I don't care if I have to replace pads every year. I just want a front pad that is easy on the rotors!!! Comments would be appreciated...

I switched to ceramic pads about 10 years ago, I've never worn out a rotor and I drive 60K miles/yr. When I swap out the OEM pads for the ceramics I install new rotors and have the old OEM rotors turned for the next brake job. Quicker stops, no brake fade, longer life and less dust are the reasons I made the switch. Some people love them, other hate them. I really like ceramics....

I'd stick with soft pads. Replacing the pads is relatively easy, quick, and cheap. Replacing or resurfacing the rotor is more costly and a lot more work, although 2 sets of rotors simplify it a bit.

Why not compromise then and go with semi-metallic pads? A little more aggressive than organic but not as hard as ceramic.
