I need some info on my ´66 F-100 for being able to get it through inspection here in Sweden. I need hp rating on the 300 cui inline six and the fuel capacity for this truck. Thanks. / Hans

Thanks John. I searched the internet for some time and came up with the rating of 150 hp @ 3,600 rpm for the 300 cui six. Could that sound about right? / Hans

Sure its a 300? Most '60's pickups had 240's.

I have not checked it up yet but the original owner ordered with 300 since he wanted the big truck six. How do I check it out? / Hans

Hans:

According to 1966 Ford Truck Shop Manual (page 10-159), the in cab tank capacity is 19.5 US gallons/16.5 Imperial gallons.

The 300CID is listed in the manual so it was probably an available option in '66. It has a data plate code of B Horsepower is also listed in the data plate, but I suspect that you don't have the data plate on the driver's door.

I'll respond with the HP if I can find it in the manual.

I found the data-plate on the door showing 150 hp @ 3,600 rpm. Would that be the 300 cui six?

The code for your engine will be in the vin # on the data plate which should start off as F10_ . The blank is your engine code letter which I don't have with me at the moment to tell you what letter corresponds to the 300 six.
