Anyone running bypass oil filter setups?

I did some reading on bypass filters a while ago and thought it sounded like a pretty good idea, so I thought I'd make a post to see if anyone here is running one, and what their experiences are.

I saw where someone is actually using toilet paper for filter cartidges?!?

I just put on the Amsoil dual bypass oil fiter, but don't have any results yet. The bypass does filter down to 2 micron so I don't see how that can be a bad thing! The toilet paper rool filter is a real product here: http://www.bypassfilter.com/MotorGuardFilters.htm and they have been used for decades.

I run the Oil Guard EPS-20-PSD-73L, 1 micron filtration, by-pass filter system. It comes with all of the fittings, hose, brakect, and insturctions. Easy installation, good directions (even color pictures).

They are a Site Sponsor and right now they are on sale for 10% off ($187.20) through the 15th of July.

Check out all my Motorguard filters in my gallery(or click the links in my signature). Great stuff. CHEAP elements. If u decide to run bio-diesel the filters will pick up all the diesel fuel byproducts cleaned out by the bio.

I put the oil guard on mine about 2 weeks ago (yes I bought it before the sale, oh well). I like it but won't know how well it works for 10-15k.

I've also got an oil guard on mine. Been very happy with it. Tough unit made of all metal construction. So far, all my UOA's have come back with very good results.

i mounted it on the inside of the drivers side frame rail. the filters sit right in between the front driveshaft and the tranny. i had a bracket fabricated and attached it using the bolts for the fuel pump bracket.
i could take some pics, but i don't know how to upload them.

I bought a bypass filter setup from Tymar. I've only had it on for about 2,500 miles.

So far -

Stock power setting, no bypass filter - engine oil stayed clean up to about 3,000 miles, then started getting dark.

DP Tuner 40hp/80hp mixed usage, no bypass filter - engine oil started getting dark by 500 miles. By 3,000 miles, oil was very dark gray, though not as black as oil from a bigrig - or the oil from my brother's Cat 3208 powered truck.

DP Tuner 40hp/80hp mixed usage with bypass filter - at 2,500 miles, the Schaeffer oil is still about as green as when I poured it out of the bottle - there is only the slightest hint of gray to it.

In 500 miles, I'm going to replace the bypass filter and send a sample of oil to Blackstone. Then I will really know how well it is working.
