Hello, new engine is going back together.

Well I just picked my engine parts up at the machine shop last night.
I got the crank, pistons, cam, headstuds and heads back on before the rain set in last night.

Time to go put some more of it together before it rains again.

Well Dave, I see you are at it again.

They took the one out of Berts in CHarleston and the last one in Beckley years ago. The is a fellow by the name of Allen in Glen Daniels that has one. I don't know how to get in touch with him. Let me see what I can do.

Well my plan was to finish assembly today and installation tomorrow.
But it is pouring down the rain right now.
Since my shop uses the sky for a roof, that is not what I had hoped for today.

Yeah, that liquid sunshine. Pops up when you don't want it to.

Well after the rain ended yesterday I tried to go to fast and make up time.
And as it always happens, as I hurried to assemble my oil cooler I ripped an O ring.
So now I have my engine assembled, with no oil cooler to install.
If I am lucky, I will have one tomorrow. If not, I guess I will have one in a couple of days.

The faster I go, the father behind I get.

Can you get the O-Ring locally or does it have to be special ordered?

I have a good contact at Bert WOlfe Ford that can usually get me what I want in a hurry.

The local Ford dealer had the O rings in stock.
I am running now and have about 120 miles on the engine.
All seems well so far.

2001psd welcome to the chapter.

Dave: Got my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully this one will last a while.

Have you figured out how to put an innercooler on it yet?

That is going to take holding it up to the truck and a lot of head scratching I am afraid.

I went up to Reevesville to the truck pulls last night, what a show, they are running again tonight.

I wanted to pull mine on the dyno so bad, but I figure I should have a few more miles on it first even though I am at close to 450 now.
Since I had the pistons milled down I am going to have to turn the fuel up a bit more, 900 degrees is about all I get on the pyrometer now at 15 PSI boost and almost no smoke.

I guess I should show you all what I did as far as paint goes.

I really like it.
Cranked the boost up to 18 PSI Saturday, still 900 on the pyrometer.
I think I am going to give it more fuel later this week after a few more miles on it.
