What kind of disk for grinder

I am fixxing to grind off the little knubs that used to hold the clips for the chrome trim on my 77. Problem is, I don't know what kind of disks to get for the grinder. I figure I'll need the kind like used for grinding down welds, but I don't know. I have a 4 inch craftsman angle grinder if that helps any. Thanks

I would think that 80 to 100 grit should do the job without chewing up the base metal .Whats on the grinder now?

Right now it has one of the really hard disks that came with it and that sucker will chew up anything in about 2 seconds!! Thanks

You may have to buy a backer plate for the grinder so the flexable disks can be properly attatched. I think Home Depot sells them or Sears. Works pretty good.
