Calgary Stampede

Just wondering how many of our American friends have been to the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"? It is the richest outdoor rodeo in the world with over 1.6 million dollars in rodeo prizes and one heck of a 10 day party.

Well, I know some people from Colorado,Wyoming, & Texas know about Calgary.

I have invited people on FTE to come to Calgary many times.

Used to go to Calgary a lot on business.

Stampede Week is a bad time to find a hotel room!

But the town is One Heckuva Party!

I was in Calgary yesterday and it was dismal everywhere I drove.

Got caught in major rainstorm at about 4:00 in NW.
No hail anywhere I was.
Strathmore got the hail yesterday.

Drove downtown to hopefully see the huge Mural of the Ford Truck but couldn't find it.

Cowboy's was closed at 4:30 when I drove by..maybe the $50.00 cover charge helped cause that ?

All the rides at the grounds were shut down as Lightning was in the immediate area.

The Stampede grounds charge is $12.00 this year so I wonder with all the bad weather if they have had ... will they have a Million visitors this year ?

Calgary appeared Solemn while I was there.

It sucked, I live in the NW which seems to get the worst of it....no damage to the truck though (whew!).
The stampede has really become overpriced and the extreme crowds make it less desirable each and every year, the only thing I look forward to is all the EYE candy walking around, then you might get the odd YEE HAW outta me.
