Need some help

Hello! I am new to this website. I need some help. I have a 1970 f250 4x4 that I recently purchased. Are there any aftermarket power steering or power brake kits available for the truck? Are there any other Ford parts from different years that may swap onto my motor? It has a 360 under the hood with a 4 speed manual tranny. It also has 4 wheel drum brakes.. which was pretty much the standard in those days. I think that I may have seen power brake boosters available for it in a catalog somewhere... but I am not sure if that applied to my truck or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

James the answer is a big YES. What exactly do you wish to do. You should be able to add power disk brakes, power steering, etc.

John,
The main thing I would like to have is power steering and power brakes. A disc brake conversion can come much later if I feel the need to do so. Also, I intend on keeping the 360 under the hood, so I guess I would need brackets to fit that block.

There are a few more issues to deal with, on adding PS to a 4X4 because of different front drives. The brackets, and pump should be easy to come by in your local salvage yard. If the 4X4 is like the 2X4 you will need to get the steering column as well. Look for one with the same style tranny as yours, so the column will match up.

If you consider power brakes at all go with the disks. It's a much better stopping system.
