Question Anyone in Monroe

Can anyone in Monroe tell me what the vehicle inspection is like there?
Here in Morganton they don't do emission testing on anything newer than 94.
They only do a visual on cars and trucks from 75-93, 94-up they have to pass the emission testing.

as far as the slicks are concerned there is no inspection visual or otherwise. I live in lexingon meself so i know nothing about your area as far as the other things go.

this pdf file (posted below) located at http://www.ncdot.org can shed some light for you on the inspections though. there is http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/moving/newnc/emissions.html which has the counties listed current and future listings.

http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/vehicle_ser...nforcement.pdf
this pdf has all the information you need, i would try to find it, but i really need to try to finish buffing my truck today so its not so funny looking at work tomorrow..lol

old and up to 1995 model years old shall have an exhaust emission test.
This emission test is in addition to the safety inspection required in the
rules in this Section and shall be administered as a part of the regular
inspection. The emission readings resulting from the test must be at or
below the standards as set forth in Section 6 of this section or a waiver
must be issued by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles or their
designated agent (DMV Inspector/Auditor). G.S. 20-183.2

This is my field. All 1995 and older, under 1 ton, get a safety inspection only. 1996 and up only get an obd2 test. If a check engine light is on you fail, if not you pass. Also the safety inspection on 1996 and newer. The tailpipe test is over and done with as of July this year. This is the entire inspection....

How about a 1986 F250 with the original 460?

Only a safety inspection, no obd2 or tailpipe.
