Question Fuel cost...

I was wondering how much does diesel fuel cost you guys?? I'm planning on a mid to late summer move out of Alaska and was just curious as to how much diesel is or will be about that time.
Just trying to set up a budget and figure out the costs. If someone could let me know what it costs in $canadian/ltr or $US/gal I would be grateful.
Also, if I were to have one of those auxillary fuel tanks in the bed of my truck, would I get taxed or have to pay any fuel surchages. I used to drive "hotshot", but that was a few years ago and I'm sure things have changed since then.
Thanks for the help, ~~Chris

Hi WilliesSD250. diesel fuel in Saskatoon is 90.9 cents a litre at the cheaper fuel stops. [ Also, if I were to have one of those auxillary fuel tanks in the bed of my truck, would I get taxed or have to pay any fuel surchages.] Sorry, I don`t have any idea if you would have this or not. Hope this helps you somewhat.

Thanks Fomoko1, with your info and the link Dennis gave me, It's helping me plan my route some..or should I say replan my route. I'll keep a few options open until the time I travel, then check the costs one last time...

Hey FoMoCo, That's all dependant on getting my house sold, and wrapping up a few loose ends here. I'm shooting for sometime between July first and September 15th. But it could be sooner than July. Just after the house sells that'll really be the deciding point.....I won't have any big bills to speak of and that "red ****" could set in REAL QUICK!!

if you are talking about a slip tank, I don't think there are any charges associated with them..

Nor are there any I am aware of for extra fuel tanks mounted on a pickup

I believe that only commercial plated vehicles, not private plated vehicles will have fuel tax surcharges.

Fomoko1, Yea looks like it will be the later part of September now......The house sale is taking longer than I expected and duck season starts Sep. 1 Kinda like to take my "pup" hunting before I leave. But I'll keep you posted on my exact departure date.

I've just skimmed through the posts, so if someone else pointed it out already, I apologize. If they haven't Willie, FYI you can claim back the Federal Gov't port of the taxes known as GST when you get to the border and cross back into the states. That goes for anything you buy while travelling through our great outdoors.
