What can I use?

I was looking at using Line-X as a stone/chip protector on my truck. The website claims that they can basically match any factory paint color, but it is only good for 10 years and then the color becomes unstable and fades or what have you. Is there someway to prevent that from happening, like vinyl protectant everymonth or cxlear coating or something?

Sounds like you already got the answer from the souce.

I can't imagine that anyone has the answer your looking for here, or anywhere else. Nothing is guaranteed forever. Also, if its good for 10 years, thats better than most warranties you can get from any other other product out there now-a-days. Think about it, other than me, how many people keep their trucks that long anyway . I have a 1992 F-250......

Well the 10 years isn't a warranty, that is just how long the test pieces lasted. Also, the only thing the lifetime warranty is for are bedliners. So is there something to extend the life? Like back to black for the black liners works great, but would that mess up a colored liner?

Where exactly do you want to put the liner? If you are talking about the rocker panel area, then I think black would look nice. I had my step rails sprayed with Line-X, and I think they look great.

The truck is bright red and has no black on it, except for the tires, the black would look kinda funny to me. I was hoping that the line-x could mimmic that stuff they used to have thay you sprayed on before or after painting. Except the line-x is stronger and more resistant to cuts/dings/ect.

If you regularly put a protectant/conditioner on it, that would greatly preserve the color. By the way, I think that black rocker panels would look killer on a red truck!
