Transfer case fluid for '99 F250?

Hello,

I have a used '99 F-250 PSD and was wondering what kind of fluid goes in the transfer case. Since I don't have the owners manual I am at a loss. I would think some kind of gear oil but I've also heard some later models use ATF.

Thanks,

Jon

Yep you are right on, with the ATF - that's what it takes

it takes 2 quarts of mercon/dextron III ATF. spend the extra $$ and use a full syn.

Arrow FREE Owner Manuals

You can download your Owner's Manual free...with a current edition (see link).

Must have Acrobat Reader, but might be worth your time.

Agree with the other posts, your transfer case takes 2.0 qts of Mercon ATF fluid.

Good luck...
