Thats twice in a week you have agreed with me. Is there anything that the people here on the board can do for you? I know its tough with Fenders gone to the Sandbox, but I am worried about you.

If you asked me today, tomarrow and on the 4th of July what I paid for my '69 Cougar, you'd most likely get 3 different answers. Not because I'm B.S.ing you, but I just dont remember. Before too long, I'll have forgot what I paid for my '56 F100. MAYBE its early effects of Alzheimers, I like to think its because thinking of the money put into the hobby takes away from enjoying the mindless zone I find myself in when I'm working on my toys.
I forgot.... what were we talking about?

My wife told me that I could bring a redhead home, but she would have to do all the cooking and cleaning.
I keep an approx. running total on what I have spent on my truck. I got the truck for free and I've spent maybe $1000 on it. Its not pretty, and its no where near completion, but its running and driveable and I'm having a blast cruising it around.
I never try and keep track of labor hours. I waste alot of time doing, redoing, reredoing, etc, etc, etc
Have a blast with it! If you can score a redhead in the deal, thats even better!

The price is all relative. If you were happy with it then it was a good deal. I got my truck in partial trade for a 1949 Pontiac Silver Streak that I had. The guy gave me my 49 F1 and $600 bucks for the old Poncho. I had paid $200 for the Poncho and had a couple hundred more in it so I made out pretty good on the deal (doesn;t happen to me very often)
Take care

I think I tend to agree with fiddy on this one. If you try to keep track of how much you spent you will start thinking about it and saying I should have never done this or I should have got the cheap seats. Don't worry about that.
However I am being somewhat hypocritical cause I know that I have $250 in my 68 Dodge pu and $200 in my 49 Ford. But other than buying them I have only gotten a seat and tailgate for my Dodge.
I will say this it takes a lot of money to fix an old car if you want it to drive like new. If you want it to look new more. If you want to add your own style that dosen't help. But this hobby shouldn't be about the money. It should be about the time you have to learn things like the hood release on a 49 Ford it the crome piece on the right side of the hood, the good and bad of working on it, (lots of stories to laugh about later), and in the end (ha end) being able to drive around town without being able to pass anyone without them looking at your pick up!
