Dash pad goo

Hi all. I removed my dash pad this morning and spent a while scraping the crud off of the dash. There's still a good bit left and I was wondering if anybody knows of an adhesive remover that works particularly well. I'm going to paint the dash top for now and later on (when I hit the lottery or some rich uncle dies) replace the dash pad. Any suggestions?

I can highly recommend 3M's 8980 or 8984 Adhesive Removers. They have removed every adhesive I have used them on although I might wonder about catalyzed type.

It is very gentle on paint and I sell it as a wax stripper.

You'll find it at most Pepboys

I have used laquer thinner suscessfully with a terry cloth towel to soften up the goo. Be carefull as it will also take the paint off.

Place some on the rag and rub left overs. lots of elbow grease.

I have used Goo Gone on bumper stickers or whatnot with good success, just have to let it work in for a few minutes. Its available in just about any store here, grocery stores usually have it in the cleaning supply aisle. It is made from citrus so I dont think it would have an effect on paint and it has that nice orangy smell.
