wooden truck beds

what are your thoughts on a wooden truck bed. were planning on getting Cherry wood for the bed. The Truck is a 1972 F250 Camper Special.

Cherry would be sweet for a truck bed, for sure. Will it be exposed to the weather? If so, consider something like spar urethane for protection from the elements. I plan on using oak to replace mine in the future (1980 F-150 flareside). Do you have a standard bed on the truck now? I'm not that familiar with the camper special.

8 foot standard bed after the bed is done we will put a toeno cover on it for some protection, plus it's going to be garage kept
