Will a 305/70/16 fit on my F250?

Hey All:

I have an unlifted 2003 F250 V10. I'm looking at the 305/70/16 Terra grapplers. Will they fit on my truck?

Thanks!

Steve

They will but with a little of spring rub (this is for a 4WD). I don't think they will work on a 2WD.

Well according to the website, they should fit. They measure in at 32.68". But the issue will "might" have is the rim. They recommend an 8" thru 9.5" rim with that tire. Preferred 9" rim.

I am thinking that the OEM SD rim is 8", but it might only be 7". I cannot remember off hand. Maybe someone will chime in here...and give a positive answer.

But for the height issue...no problem. The width issue...might rub. I had the LT285/75R16 tires on my SD at one time. No rub at all. They were at 32.76" in height. Just not as wide.

Ya, but you have the coil front suspension whereas the older model has the leaf front with less space. The '05+ models can handle a larger tire without any lift. We pre-'05s have to worry about those leaf springs.

My 295s rubbed (only when cranked to the right the right inside edge would hit the spring) when used on the stock 7" rims, therefore I assume the 305s will rub even more.

I had 305s on my 2000 F250. They fit good. You get some rubbing on the inner plastic fender at full lock. I took my truck off road to the Pismo dunes and had no other problems even getting alittle air.

Here's pics of 305's on my '04 before the lift.

Minor rubbing under full lock and a hard bump. Just on the plstic fender liner though.

Are the 305/70/16s OK on the OEM 16x7" rims? I need to buy tires soon.

They are too wide for the "recommended" rim.

You'll were the centers out pretty fast.

The pics I have there are on an 8" wide wheel.

285's are okay.

295's are a little over, but guys run them and haven't had problems.

BUT.....you really need to look at the specific tire manufacturers site to see what "they" recommend for their specific tire.
