New Ranchero owner - Need help decoding a VIN

I just purchased a '58 Ranchero. Need help with decoding the VIN and the data codes. I can do this fairly easy with any '48-52 Ford full size truck, but this ain't a full size truck.

VIN: C8RF124604
BODY: 66B
COLOR: GE2
TRIM: AB
DATE: 03A
TRANS: 3
AXLE: 2

Here it is. It's complete and original (bumper and original wheels are in the bed) CA car.

Thanks, Ilya

You can do the VIN here : http://web.archive.org/web/200202201...g/vin.html#***
A 66B is a "Custom" with a total production of 8,479 Cars.
Visit http://www.ranchero.us/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi and maybe some of the folks that have the early Rancheros can decode the rest.
BTW, nice find you have there! These's a 58 owner at the ranchero.us site that is sitting his in a Town Car chassis. Check it out.

Thanks!

I actually had it decoded by a gentlemen on lovefords.org:

> C8RF124604 66B - GE2 - AB - 03A - 3 - 2
>
> C = 292 cubic inch V-8 engine
> 8 = 1958
> R = San Jose, California assembly plant
> F = Ford Ranchero product code
> 124604 = the 24,604th Ford scheduled for production at San Jose for the 1958
> model year
>
> 66B = Ford Custom Ranchero product code
> GE2 = Sun Gold (G) and Colonial White (E) Styletone Paint (2)
> AB = Beige cloth and vinyl interior
> 03A = Scheduled for production on January 3, 1958
> 3 = Fordomatic transmission
> 2 = 3.56:1 rear axle ratio
