Rotunda air horn compressor kit or replacement?

I've got a '66 which my father bought new. He opted for the "Rotunda" dual air horn option with the vacuum powered air compressor:

There are photos on my personal website of the under-hood installation:

The vacuum to run the compressor runs off the carburetor base plate.

I'm looking for a rebuild kit or replacement compressor. I believe JC Whitney used to carry the rebuild kit but seem to have discontinued it.

As I am attempting to keep the truck as close to stock as possible, I would prefer to avoid the newer 12 volt electrically powered compressors.

I remember when they used to work they were *extremely* loud and startling.

If I have to "Mad Max" a repair on the thing, I will, but would also prefer a nice clean fix.

BTW: Love this site. It's been a great help so far, searching through the forums.

Just a guess, but somebody else probably made that vacuum-operated air pump for Ford. Are there any identifying markings on it?

Maybe you could contact Grover, Hadley, and Wolo and ask if they used to sell compressors like that, if they were the same as the Rotunda one, and do they have spare parts?

I did a Google search on vacuum-powered air compressor, and I learned that GM supplied those with an air shock kit "Delco Jac Pac 175", for what it's worth.

slow-lane Welcome to FTE and the 61-66 forum

I believe the horns would be dealer option and not Ford option. Since you want to run them, why don't you swallow that little lump and run them with the newer equip. You could enjoy the horns that way.
