Hi bigro 007!
it's difficult for me to read your messages due to lack of punctuation.
But, as I understood, there is problem with 2.9 roads - they are too short and counterweight will hurt the piston. right?

Hi,
this is correct the rod small hole goes about 1/4 inside of the counter weight I estimate that it need about 7mm of counter weight shaving i have see a german site call capri-spezail something they show a lot of interesting thing there

This type of mod does no good in the US. I have owned cars/trucks with the 2.6, 2.8, & 2.9. and while they all ran good I would consider none of them a performance engine. They have bad heads, bad intakes, and are heavy for their displacement. The 4.0 I'm not that up on but it's just a bigger version of a engine that offers no real performance. Why bother. I can drop in a 3.0L 24V V6 that makes over 200 HP stock from a newer Ford if I want to go faster. Or I can use a 5.0L V8 that makes 300 HP with the right factory parts and weighs only 50 lbs more then the 2.6-4.0L V6 engines when you install aluminum heads.

Hi
thank for your replie I found out these forum are only talking about your v8 302 why I went into all this trouble and if you had read the entire tread I have post is mainly that I will turn my capri into awd or 4x4 for you bases on the ford sierra 4x4 and its drive train is bases on the ford v6 and now I have in my possession of 24 valve head which will bring me in the 300 hp region and will respect what was the 12 imported 4x4 capri in the us second reason if you know some country like in Europe can't put any bigger engine because of taxe on engine size so this is why they do a stroke kit for there engine we would have performance part for these engine if people in the us would have demanded it

so before giving advice about swapping a v8 or 4.0liter you should ask why are you going that route and when I ask a question I would really like to have help from this forum specially it is about the v6 isn't it? for my capri I would choose the ecoboost 3,5 liter before going with a v8 and last I can't even get piston sho 3.0 liter for a complete rebuild I thank you for the replies

My advise was directed to those in the US planning on moding their V6 and not someone in Europe! I have owned 3 different Capri Mk I's and one Mk II so I do know what is available in Europe for the Ford V6. And those parts/engines are just not available here. I also know about the 4X4 Capri's build by Ferguson for rallying back in the late 60's or early 70's. I even knew a guy who raced one in Canada back then.

The Cosworth 24V head is a nice upgrade but your still dealing with an engine designed back in the 60's. Also true that in some countries you can't modify your car like we can in the US, heck some places here we can't either if the car is of a newer model and subject to emissions tests.

Just don't be so sensitive about what other people post on line.

Hi again
ok now you see why I wanted help about that stroked v6 do you remember the canadien person who had one of these capri? no I'm not sensitive but when someone like me or someone like in Europe do ask for help I would love the people just answer what is being ask that's all I know for a fact the usa people like to v8 in anything I know that

I own 2 mk1 capri right now one for me and one for my daughther for he future her's maybe I'm considering the sho old or new version an the other reason is here is gasoline is 1.10 a liter in Canadian gallon is around 5 dollard Canadian so I want to drive or hers whenever we feel like not being told when or how by the price they will be a dailey driver if we which and not all depend this is why I'm going that way the easiest path would be your of course I don't even dougth that

tom morena in Canada is the only supplier for these stroker kit and I know he must take these kit from the us somewhere my goal is to find these company who did some of these or actually have the full spec. sheet on the part so I have a little choice thank once again and don't take this personally I just like if I ask or somebody else the same question that the people if they know or not really answer what it is ask that is all

thank you
