Price and availability?

How readily available are parts for a 1972 Ranchero? Also, is an unrestored 72 with a 351 Cleaveland for 800 dollars a good deal? I am looking for a project and this one sounds up my alley. It is complete but milage is unknown, has some surface rust and and the driver's fender was crumpled but fixed previously.

availability of what parts? body, engine/drivetrain? the engine/drivetrain parts are easy, body parts will be the hardest to find. up to 71 they are completely different body style. the 72 front clip is a 1 year only deal. a 73-76 front clip can be swapped on with some reworking(welding?) of the bumper mounts. 73-76 from the doors on back body parts will interchange onto the 72. 72 also used different front spindles/bearings/rotors, they can be found or swapped to the 73 and later style. complete running car for $800? hard to go wrong if you like it but it is going on 35 years old, plan on a few thing$ "popping up".

Anybody else have some input? It is a 500 and seems to only have 2 small rust spots on it.

dearborn classics and autokrafters have some parts for our 72's, and there are a bunch of dismantlers on the web that cater to Fords/Torinos if not Rancheros specifically.
