Inst Panel Lights Out = No A/C + blows hot air?
My instrument panel lights went out this winter I tried changing fuses bulbs nothing worked. Everything still worked until the summer snuck up....... Now I have now A/C. Any ideas? I have taken the Instrument panel off and has a few removeable switches (behind the *****). Just cant afford to take it to a shop then them charge me $600 for a $20 part that is easy to change...... Its hotter than 17 fat women in a voltswagon in Dallas so any suggestions or answers will be greatly appreciated.....

There are about a dozen things that will keep the A/C from operating, none of them related to the I/P lights.
Check charge with a set of manifold guages first. With the compressor not operating, you should have at least 60-80 psi static pressure in the Dallas summer. If it's less than 45 psi, the system is severely undercharged.

That was the first thing I did. I figured just the lights were burnt out but everything works except the a/c getting cool. I tried the relay switch with no luck. After I took the instrument panel off I figured that it may be one of the switches maybe the temp guage?????? Don't really know how to check.
