I've got a 85 f-150 with a rod knocking. Looking at options. Either swap in another 351, or Rebuild the one I have. Have never Rebuilt one before, but people say it isn't too hard. Also, what's the difference in 351w. Something bout H.O. They only come certain years or what. Would a 351w out of an older car be the same? Thanks for answering my NewBee Questions

Found a lot of Clevelands and Modifies, but not too many Windsors yet. I know there out there, just gotta be ready to jump when it's there.

 

Sorry for dropping in I saw this title on the display to the chapters.

The HO basically came with a 4 barrell carb. and also used some parts differently then a normal 351. For example rocker arms valves etc. Stuff that was better suited to handle a 4 barrell Holley. I run a 351 HO in my 85 4by4. It is a good motor that can handle any hill or mudpatch. I only get stuck at gas stations.

if you want to rebuild it I can help or just do it for you, you will have to decide about your cam, crank, and pistons you want and if you want to have it bored over or not. I use a place in Broomfield to dip and shot my blocks and they do a real nice job on the heads as well.
