77 f250 driveshaft problem

it seems as i have noticed on several these 250 highboys that the rear driveshaft's telescopic area is very EXTREMELY close together....ive hit bumps in the road...wait reflectors and heard the driveshaft telescopic area bottom out into e/o....i dont want to know what will happen if i hit a serious bump in the road(driveshaft punching through t-case maybe?) what can i do? blocks? springs? it has four inch blocks already....came stock...oh and whats your height between the fender and the tire in the front?(if anybody has a 77 highboy with 33s...)

Do you mean the slip yoke? Maybe you don't have the original shaft in it anymore. Over the years someone could have swapped it out. I don't think it would come that close from the factory. Do you know of anyone else with a truck like yours to compare with?
